Before You Begin
Empty pockets and remove any padding or thick layers from your clothing.
Check the tape measure starts at zero. It must lie firmly against the body without pulling — maximum one finger under the tape.
Always have someone else take your measurements — it is impossible to do this correctly on your own.
What to wear: light, thin clothing (t-shirt and thin trousers or shorts) that does not distort the silhouette.
Waist position: decide at what height you want to wear the trousers — all measurements must be taken from that line.
Footwear for length: if the trousers are intended for specific shoes, measure the length while wearing them.
